Further Into The Dungeon (Itself)

The stench of the dead pseudo-giant makes the entire party wretch, only Hargle and Heywood manage to withstand the rotten miasma. [The rest are poisoned.]

There is a rotten door that is now broken from the entrance of the Pseudo-Giant, there is also the door leading back to the dead Guard Drakes, and a small hobbit-like door as well.

Dean looks at the columns in the back of the room and notices that they appear to be in the shape of fingers, and together resembles an open hand.

The party heads through the broken door, Dean taking the lead. It begins as a sort of narrow hallway, but soon opens to a much larger area further along.

Hargle instead waddles over to the hobbit door, opens it, and it also opens as a narrow hallway. It turns off in the distance, there is an ominous red glow. The rest of the party decides to follow him.

There is a door further down the tunnel, and it is overgrown with a sort of fleshy substance. [Failed intelligence check] Lady tries to determine what it is, but only knows it is a door.

[Successful arcana check] Hargle can tell there is a magical element to this substance on the door. Lady pokes it with a knife, and immediately it pulses and an eye opens to look upon the party. It seems to be a living creature.

Lady notches an arrow and shoots toward the eye, it instead only hits the general mass of the creature. In response, it seems incredibly upset and pulses violently. It shoots a beam of energy from its eyeball toward Lady, hitting her squarely in the chest.

It then aims at Hargle, and hits him squarely with another beam.

Dean takes cover and shoots at the mass, hitting it straight in the eye. It seems to react with shock and quickly ceases to move, then slowly withers away.

There is a leather bag with a few cool gemstones, Dean distributes it between himself, Lady, and Hargle.

The door it was covering simply leads back to the room the party came from.

“Mmm. Other door.”

The party heads into the Oval Office of the labyrinth, there is a skeleton sitting behind a large desk, it doesn't respond.

There is a chasm in the center of the room, wind seems to be blowing upward. Heywood tosses a rock into it, the rock is blown back up. Anyone who approaches has their hair blown back with considerable force.

Lady pushes a hand toward the chasm, it is indeed wind.

[Perception pass] The torch thrown in earlier suddenly seems to fall again from the ceiling.

Heywood fall, dean lasso but weak

Hargle [entangles] Heywood in vines sprouted from the brickwork, then the other party members grab onto a vine and narrowly pull him out of the chasm.

Hargle starts waddling toward the chasm, as though he is going to also jump in. Martyr grabs Hargle by the scruff of his neck, and struggles to pick up the bulky dwarf. Hargle moans.

Lady fires an arrow into the chasm, it flies back, bounces against the wall, and falls safely on the ground.

Martyr walks over to the other side of the room, using the [Immovable Rod] as an emergency measure if the floor crumbles. This was a wise move, as the floor completely gives way, and Martyr immediately activates the rod to suspend himself in space. He then successfully swings himself across the chasm. A rock seems to whistle by, and narrowly misses him. Heywood, Dean, and Lady follow close behind.

Hargle, knowing he is not dexterous, pulls from the bag of tricks and pulls out a Duegar. The Duegar looks around, perplexed, “What in the hells is this…”

Hargle whispers in the ear of the Duegar, the dwarf nods and [Grows] to about twice the size. It then grabs Hargle and throws him about 20 feet across the pit, Hargle then begins to fall, but is narrowly caught by the whip of Dean. Hargle is pulled up onto the [Immovable Rod], and the party tries to make it across the chasm.

The rattling of bones seems to follow the party.

The party manages to finally get to the other side in [One Piece].

*Can we get much higher? So high…*

The skeletons from earlier suddenly pour into the other side of the room, but soon tumble into the chasm and fall perpetually like everything else.

Heywood does [Door Kick]. The door is soon opened, it opens into a triangular room about a hundred feet across and the party can only see about hallway into it. There is a silver pedestal in the center of the room, with intricate filigree. There is a shiny black stone upon it, Hargle runs forward to inspect it but Dean holds him back. Looking around, he sees no traps, so he lets Hargle go forward. The pedestal does seem ominous.

Hargle inspects and licks it, can tell it isn't dwarven, and it might be elven. Nothing else is obvious.

Dean inspects it and feels that it might be evil.

Lady tries to wiggle it, but fails.

Heywood hears a pained moan, jerks to the side, and sees a faint specter swiping toward him. The being is a sort of generic ghost, the chains on its wrists fade into nothingness.

Another ghost appears near Martyr, then swipes at him. A chunk of flesh it ripped off.

There are two ghosts.

## Combat Start

Heywood swings a mace at the nearby ghost, it feels like hitting a bag of pudding and a sort of ectoplasm covers the mace as it is pulled out.

Hargle reaches into the [Bag of Tricks] and pulls out a sort of moldy ball, then throws it next to Martyr. The Ball bursts open, and a large fungal creature comes forth. [Natural Savagery] Hargle rubs his hands together and grows out his putrid nails, then rips across the ghost. Chunks of ectoplasm drip from his hands as the nails go back to normal. The [Adult Myconid] saunters up to the same ghost and swings toward it, tearing off a small bit of goop. It then unleashes a cloud of spores, except it is quite unlike the spores often produced by Hargle, and those within it (all except Lady) feel as though their minds are connected.

Martyr [Turns Undead], chanting ritual prayers of Tyr, and the ghosts are frightened and try to move away.

Lady pulls back an arrow on the longbow and looses it against one of the ghosts, also tearing away a chunk of goop.

Dean points a gun toward one of the ghosts and fires a bullet, it rips a hole through one of the ghosts and seems to damage it slightly.

The ghost near Heywood lurches closer to him, and enters him. Heywood is once again possessed.

[Possessed Heywood] swings against Lady, crushing through her armor with a mace and tearing the flesh. He follows it up with a punch to the side of the face, and yet another, leaving her battered.

Immediately after, [Possessed Heywood] seems to convulse, pull himself back, and throws up a black sludge that is the ghost itself.

Hargle approaches the ghost near Heywood, invokes [Primal Savagery] to grow his nails again, and desperately rips into it. The ghost barely hangs on.

The [Adult Myconid] swings at the ghost, but whiffs.

Martyr just hits the ghost with an axe, and seems to finish it off as it vanishes with an anguished groan. A faint purple mist seems to emit from the spot, and it goes into the black stone in the center of the room.

Dean prepares his pistol, preparing to fire if necessary.

The ghost appears, Dean and Lady immediately fire at it. The ghost has bits torn off.

Heywood swung a mace at the ghost and punches it multiple times. It looks pretty messed up.

Hargle, once again, invokes [Primal Savagery] and rips it apart with the acidic nails growing from his stumpy hands. The ghost is barely hanging on, the [Adult Myconid] walks forward and smashes the faint specter with one final swing, the spectral goop is sprayed over the walls and floors.

A purple light seems to emit from the black sphere, and cracks seem to split down it…
